Orange Cake

🍊 Orange is a versatile fruit. Tasty, tangy, sweet and juicy. Almost everyone like oranges.
Presenting the recipe of the tasty, the tangy, soft and moist Orange cake. 



Ingredients  
       
Dry Ingredients 
All-purpose flour ----------- 2 cup 
Baking powder ------------- 1-1/2 tsp
Baking soda ---------------- 1 tsp
Pinch of salt 

Wet Ingredients 
Eggs ------------------------ 2
Sugar ---------------------- 1 cup
Refined oil  ---------------- 1/2 cup
Yogurt --------------------- 1/2 cup
Fresh orange juice -------- 1/2 cup 
Vanilla extract ------------- 1 tsp
Orange zest ---------------- 1 tsp


Preparation 

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit (180 degree celsius) grease 8-inch or 9-inch cake tin with and dust it with a tablespoon of flour, keep aside. 

Step 2.  In a bowl, sieve together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Step 3. In a large bowl, put yogurt, refined oil, vanilla extract, orange juice, orange zest and mix them well using a hand whisk or electric whisk. (if you are using electric whisk,  whisk it for 5 minutes at medium speed)  

Step 4. Add sugar to the mixture and whisk again for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5. Now add the dry ingredients into the mixture, in small batches, this will help ingredients to mix proportionately. 

Step 6. Once the batter is nicely combined pour into greased cake tin.

Step 7. Bake it for around 25 - 30 minutes at a temperature 180 degree celcius.

Step 8. To test if the cake is done, insert a toothpick in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. Let it cool for 15 minutes before removing from cake tin.




Note* 
  • It is a perfect Tea-Time cake. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar and Enjoy!
